You’re leaning out, elegant, and a shoo-in to grace your physique on any stage with those french-tipped toes of yours. While we’re talking about stages, let’s talk about how you can be a shoo-in for winning any NPC Bikini, Figure, or Fitness Competition. However, you aren’t going anywhere near the stage without the perfect accessory to uplift those glutes of yours – a pair of high-inched, clear heels.
While the hunt to find the ‘Cinderella fit’ might seem less magical and more tiresome as days to the competition come closer, you might run into a snit and throw a tantrum much to your surprise. Shoe shopping was always supposed to be fun, then why the constant struggle and endless rage? This is probably because you haven’t been eating carbs and the pressure to cast an exemplary performance on stage is high enough to create a legendary melt down.
However, before you break a nail or snatch somebody’s wig, we’ve compiled 3 simple tips that will help you choose the right competition shoe for your NPC Bikini or Figure Competition.
1) An Elongated Illusion:
You have to shop for heels that best suit your figure and allow your feet to slip in with ease. In order to stand high on the stage, you need a pair of clear heels to highlight all of your hard work.
Make sure that your competition shoes are not only clear, but are also as high as 5 inches. Transparent heels tend to create and support the illusion of elongated legs, and nobody wants to see your calves ending abruptly in a pair of hued clodhoppers. 5” or 6” heels are perfect for lengthening your body and elongating your entire figure before the judges. Check the federation guidelines and rules prior to making a purchase in order to be in compliance.
2) Maximum Comfort:
Sure, there are plenty of competition shoes that might arouse your interest – some might be too tight to stub your toes in the front while others might allow your heel to peek through the rear. If you think that such minor differences won’t be too prominent before the judges, then darling, this is where you’re wrong.
You are about to walk amidst a wave of competition, and the judges’ eyes are practically stalking your every move like a hawk. They’d spot the discomfort on your face due to the effort you’re taking to walk through the ramp of the stage.
In order to ensure comfort, you have to opt for styles that don’t make the entire walk difficult and unnatural for you. No two pairs of feet are alike – some are comfortable in buckles or straps while others might prefer slide-in shoes that have support on each side. Make sure that your fit is not only comfortable but natural as well. Strap preference is a personal choice, chose the competition shoe that provides the greatest amount of confidence and attitude.
3) Practice makes one perfect:
You have the perfect pair in your hand which is not only comfortable but also up to the mark and your liking. In order to ensure a natural walk, you’d have to practice walking in your competition shoes whenever you can get a chance. It will be better if you can get an outlook of the stage you’ll be walking on, so that you can practice your strut and swagger with ease.
Practice with an upright posture and try not to walk with drooped shoulders or you might look like a disinterested duck – nobody wants to see a duck waddling on the stage, really. On the other hand, make sure you buy two pairs of heels at least 4- 6 months in advance so that you are completely comfortable walking in your shoes. It is advisable to keep two pairs of heels in case anything happens to one pair.
Your practice heels will also give you time to assess trips, slips or blisters that come with too much wear and tear. Practice your posing routine with your heels and make sure you incorporate a certain rhythm to your flow.
